is the county’s regional public transit provider. All campus community members — students, staff, and faculty — can board any bus in the network for free during the fall and spring semesters. Just swipe your Otter ID card. 

MST also offers fully accessible, door-to-door paratransit for qualifying riders through its . 

ÌÇÐ͝Âþvlog Transit Hub 

The main transit hub where all MST buses serve ÌÇÐ͝Âþvlog and where transfers may occur is the 4th Avenue/Alumni and Visitors Center stop.

Routes Serving Campus 

MST serves the ÌÇÐ͝Âþvlog campus on the following bus lines: 

  • Line 17: Sand City-Marina via General Jim Moore Blvd. ()
  • Line 18: Sand City-Marina via Monterey Rd. ()
  • Line 25: ÌÇÐ͝Âþvlog-Salinas ()

Popular Destinations

Here are a few common places Otters go using public transit. Explore bus routes and directions to take once you arrive.

From the Alumni and Visitors Center, MST Line 18 provides bus service every hour to The Dunes Shopping Center.

  • Weekdays 7 a.m. until 9 p.m.
  • Weekends 8 a.m. until 7 p.m.

From the ÌÇÐ͝Âþvlog Alumni and Visitors Center:

  1. Take Line 17/18 to Sand City
  2. Remain on the bus, it will change to JAZZ A/B
  3. JAZZ A/B will travel to Monterey Transit Plaza in Downtown Monterey, then continue to the Monterey Bay Aquarium

Line 25 is a direct route between the ÌÇÐ͝Âþvlog Alumni and Visitors Center and the Salinas Transit Center. This line only operates during the Spring and Fall Semesters hourly on weekdays only from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Outside of those time frames, follow these directions:

  1. Take Line 17/18 to Marina Transit Exchange
  2. Transfer to MST Line 20

From the ÌÇÐ͝Âþvlog Alumni and Visitors Center:

  1. Take Line 17/18 to Sand City
  2. Remain on the bus, it will change to JAZZ A/B
  3. Transfer at Monterey Transit Plaza to MST Line 8

From the ÌÇÐ͝Âþvlog Alumni and Visitors Center:

  1. Take MST Line 17/18 to Sand City
  2. Remain on the bus; it will change to MST JAZZ A/B, and take it to Monterey Transit Plaza in Downtown Monterey
  3. Transfer to MST Line 7 to Ryan Ranch/Airport
