After 18 months of experiencing lockdowns and social distancing due to the COVID-19 pandemic, ÌÇÐĶ¯Âþvlog graduates from both the Class of 2020 and 2021 were excited to celebrate their achievements in a day-long commencement car parade, known as a “carmencement,” on Saturday, May 22.

Every year ÌÇÐĶ¯Âþvlog honors outstanding graduating students with six university-wide awards and five Dean’s Medalist awards. This is the first in a series of stories about this year’s winners, as well as other extraordinary graduates in the Class of 2021.

The annual event invites research presentations from all disciplines, and required a written and video presentations, as well as a live Q&A with a jury and an audience.

Recipients administered COVID-19 vaccines, worked with local kids, merged fun with scholarship, and used their lives as testimony to boost others.
